over two decades American International Companies® original environmental
insurance product has grown to include over 15 specialized environmental
insurance products that are now provided by AIG Member Companies.
We have made environmental risk management our business longer than
anyone in the industry. We are aggressive in our market research and
product development. And, most importantly, we support our products
with services that respond to your needs quickly, easily and effectively
- whether analyzing exposures, providing quick price indications or
offering reasonable premiums and broad coverage options. We were the
first to offer package pollution coverage in 1995 through our Pollution
Legal Liability Select® product. Today, we offer a variety of
environmental insurance products and programs combined with supporting
services that are designed to be responsive to the environmental exposures
faced by business and industry.

Our Team
- Our underwriters
have environmental backgrounds – They are environmental scientists,
geologists, former EPA employees, biologists and attorneys. They
work with you to ensure that the risk is evaluated from every angle
so that Insureds can employ the environmental insurance programs
that really do assist in transferring as much of the risk as they
like.
- Our engineers
work with underwriters and loss control surveys that are often conducted
for Insureds at no cost – Our dedicated engineers work in synergy
with local underwriter teams to analyze environmental risk, conduct
site surveys, and make recommendations that may assist Insureds
in complying with environmental laws and regulations.
- Our claims
unit has the experience and authority to make decisions –
and less than 1% of claims have coverage disputes that resulted
in litigation – Our claims unit, like our underwriters, is not
only easily accessible - no matter where the location - they are
specialist with professional experience who can make quick, authoritative
decisions based on their expertise. We also have a dedicated claims
unit in place that specializes in claims resolution from initial
investigation to negotiation and resolution with governmental agencies
and third-parties.

when most needed – through our toll-free emergency response
– In the case of an emergency, Insureds will have access to a toll-free
emergency response number to help expedite immediate response to
significant pollution incidents. This program – PIER II – is designed
to assist in minimizing the cost and duration of an environmental
accident.
