    The Port Adelaide Waterfront Redevelopment will be the largest urban development project undertaken in South Australia by the South Australian Government (through the Land Management Corporation) and the Newport Quays Consortium as developer. The $1.2 billion project will be established over a 10-14 year period and will provide a mix of residential, commercial and tourism oriented development along the Port Adelaide River. Stage 1 of the project has planning approval and remediation of contaminated fill and demolition of old buildings has begun.


    Alex Eadie, Principal Environmental Officer in the Planning SA, the relevant planning authority for this project, will present an overview of the project, selection process of the developer, the approval process and independent Environmental Audit process which provides sign-off that remediation/clean-up of Brownfield sites has been completed and the site is suitable for its intended use
