The report is a review of media coverage of brownfields redevelopment
across the United States, that analyzes national and regional trends
in the reuse of contaminated land. There are over 450,000 brownfield
sites nationwide across the US. Financial incentives, national legislation,
environmental insurance and many creative public/private partnerships
are driving redevelopment across the country. Properties as small
as gas stations and as large as thousand acre former military bases
being cleaned up, redeveloped and returned to productive commercial,
retail and even residential use.
