Reasons for Success: Replacement of the active system which resulted in a reduced cleanup time and a reduction in operational and manintenance costs of $ 200,000.

Passive in-situ remedial program using a combination of traditional monitoring devices and direct push technology as well as MLT tubing.
Description:
Evalutation and optimization of a remedial system designed to remediate soil and groundwater impacted by volatile organic compounds.
An organic carbon-based matrix was used to stimulate indigenous bacteria to create geochemical conditions that favored the destruction of the chlorinated compounds. The petroleum hydrocarbons were attenuated through co-metabolic reactions.
